Canadian Cane is hosting it's eighth gathering on the Grand River. Why Canadian Cane? You will meet an eclectic mix of wonderful people with a common interest. Handcrafted split cane fly rods. Be a part of the renaissance of rod building, a 150 year old tradition being revived by the people that attend this gathering. Have a look at the photograph below, all sizes and shapes and genders represented, even dogs are welcome, what could be better?

Presentations, and hands-on discussions and casting bamboo rods will encompass much of the weekend, and if Garrison's math is not for you, there is a stocked pond (pellet flies not provided).

 Come and meet 75 enthusiasts with the same affliction as you. Share a soup, sandwich, and what's new from your basement  hideaway with other rodmakers. Shopping, restaurants and other attractions make for the perfect husband and wife weekend.

The registration fee for 2009 $ 80.00 Includes 2-day admission and lunches, breakfasts and a we will be providing a Saturday dinner in a different way (get together). Total registration is limited to a first-come, first-serve basis. This is a non-profit event run by local rodbuilder volunteers.
